It’s that time of year again. Spring is in the air. It’s time to say “out with the old and in with the new”. New products, that is!
Every April, our industry comes together for a massive gathering in the desert. Far removed from our offices and day to day pace of life, we work hard and cut loose at the same time, celebrating all that we’ve accomplished and all that is to come in the year ahead.
It’s a short time when we all gather together, but it packs a punch. There’s a buzz of anticipation in the air as elaborate booths are erected, prototypes are tested, reels are cut, and everyone pulls on their brand’s t-shirt, ready to represent on the show floor. Finally the moment has arrived – when we get to show off our latest innovations, reconnect with friends, and check out what advancements are coming next in the world of film and broadcast.
There are a few things we’re especially excited to see this year:
Without a doubt, AI will be a dominant topic throughout the show. The possibilities are endless for how manufacturers, developers, and marketers will harness the power of these new tools to bring us tech like we’ve never seen before.
Last month, we had the opportunity to capture content for Strada’s new integration with Apple Vision Pro, which was a blast for all involved. It’s amazing to be a part of the team that is pioneering how these new tools are used. The AI revolution can give some people pause, but the way we see it, this is an opportunity to get creative. Not only does AI give us a new way to tell important stories, but there is also a creativity that comes with unlocking new ways to use new tools. We’re getting the chance to do things that would have been impossible before today, and getting a glimpse of how the industry may look tomorrow.
Virtual Production is another creative toolset that is near and dear to our hearts. We’ve been able to work with several amazing companies in the Virtual Production space, and even shot our own VP commercial last year at SV Studios with Interco.ai.
We’re also thrilled to see the advancements in HDR capture, projection, monitoring that have continued to evolve in recent years. Leading the way in HDR projection, we’ve had the privilege to work with the team at Barco. Their team has been tirelessly developing the highest quality cinema projectors on the market, bringing us movies the way they were meant to be seen. We were thrilled to help create HDR content specifically for their projectors with our latest project for Lightsteering.
Atlas is releasing the widest Anamorphic lens ever, the 18mm. They continue to innovate in lens space where tradition has always reigned supreme. We’ve been a fan for many years and look forward to trying this bad boy out when we get a chance!
Ready Rig is debuting their new handheld solution, giving filmmakers more freedom and versatility with their existing vest. It’s not just gimbals anymore. They continue to think outside the box and offer solutions for filmmakers out in the field, and we definitely appreciate it!
These are just a few of the stops we’re planning to make on this year’s journey. We hope we get a chance to see you out on the show floor, or perhaps after-hours on the dance floor! If you’d like to schedule a time to meet up, connect with us HERE.
This year is sure to be an NAB to remember.
